Facework by Kim carries a variety of peels consisting of AHA’s and BHA’s to address several different types of skin concerns.

In general, peels have gained popularity due to its effectiveness against acne, hyperpigmentation and enlarged pores. We have a peel for any type of concern!

This normally consists of either a slightly stronger no-downtime peel or multiple layers of peels.

This service would complement a peel series after an initial Mini Peel has been completed with no adverse reactions.

This will not be done on a first time client.

Numbing cream is discouraged as it delay the healing response (the healing response is what we want for microneedling for the best results), however it is available and can be added on through the menu.

There is minimal downtime with this procedure. Some people may be pink for a couple days, experience tightness and/or flaking.

Pre-Care requirements:
- No active ingredients (retinol, AHA/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, etc) for 1 week prior
- No exfoliation 1 week prior
- Daily SPF use for 2 weeks prior
- No major skin treatment within 4 weeks

For darker skin types, being on pigment inhibitors is a requirement as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a risk.

Post-Care requirements:
- Stay out of direct sunlight and heat for 5 days
- SPF30+ daily use
- No exfoliation for 5-7 days
- After care products provided to be used only for the first 3 days
- No excessive sweating for 3-5 days
- No steam for 5 days
- Treat area like an open wound - keep the area clean and hydrated
- continued use of pigment inhibitors

This treatment targets hyperpigmentation and is safe for all skin types, even melanin-rich skin with proper skin preparation! The MandeliClear peel is also enhanced with a Vitamin A Accelerator for an even more dramatic result.

Everyone’s first session will start out with one layer of each and will increase as we continue a series of treatments. Although some may not experience peeling, expect and plan to peel for 5-7 days. *Peeling does not determine efficacy.

A complimentary mini hydrating facial will be included and scheduled 10-14 days after to ensure the best results.

**2 week Pre and post care products are provided to help prevent post inflammatory hyperpigmentation but it is still highly recommended to have your own daily products containing pigment inhibitors for the best results.

The chemical peel on its own will help lift pigment but enhanced with products that restrict melanin production in our cells will push your results even further.

Spicules are natural spikes from sea sponge that is used in K Beauty as an alternative to chemical peels and microneedling. The gentle and natural nature of this treatment make it safe for all skin types and is even pregnancy safe. This peel/needling alternative helps stimulate collagen, brighten discoloration, and even out skin texture-- Everything you would expect from a peel or microneedling treatment.

This facial is a true customized treatment targeted to your skin concern with NO additional costs for common upgrades/add ons necessary to provide the best treatment for your skin.

Recommended for returning clients that are searching for results-focused facials. Requests can be made for the treatment but most likely will be chosen by the esthetician.
